In the process of basic education reform, the concept of curriculum resources has received great attention. Due to the particularity of the history teaching contents, the curriculum resources play an especially crucial role in school history teaching. However, history teachers in middle school widely exist a problem:scarcity of curicular resource. China, as a vast country, has long history and rich cultural resources. The museum, as a cultural and educational institution, collects variety of precious human cultural heritage. With the rational utilization, the museum resources provide more various curriculum resources for history teaching, which can enhance the student's learning interest, inspire curiosity, and improve learning efficiency. This article, based on investigation in middle school and with the museum resources in Xi'an as illustration, mainly divides into five parts to expound why should use the museum resources in middle school history teaching and how to use.The first part is introduction. It analyses the background of the thesis topic and the research status, introduces the methods of this paper and illustrate the significance of the topic.The second part studies the reason for using museum resources in middle school history teaching in three aspects and introduces the significance of museum resources using in five aspects.The third part, based on the investigation report about the usage of museum resources in Xi'an, analyses the developments and application status of museum resources using in middle school history teaching, as well as the using current situation in west country.The fourth section details the use of museum resources in middle school history teaching activities, mainly including two aspects—bring resource to school or bring the students to the museum. In addition, this section presents recommendations for the use of museum resources.The fifth part, taking ancient capital Xi'an as the example, provided the concrete case reference for developing and applying the museum resources in middle school history teaching.Above all, the research is mainly about the development application of museum resources in middle school history teaching. It aims at arousing teachers' attention to improve their professional skills and master multifarious valuable resources to enrich the history teaching content, promote the students'interest, and improve the teaching quality.
