In response to the national educational policy of "moral education",art education has entered the "key competence" period.The concept that inheriting the superb Chinese culture has raised to a new height.Ancient architectural culture is an important part of traditional Chinese culture.Art curriculum in primary and secondary school plays an important role to carry forward the culture of ancient buildings.A large number of details about ancient buildings had been found in the course standard and art books,and the ancient architectural culture can be seen throughout the teaching process during the basic art education,which indicates national attention to the ancient architectural culture.However,the education of ancient architectural culture in primary and secondary schools usually cannot adapt to school teaching.Firstly,the ancient architectural culture in teaching materials cannot adapt to the regional difference.Secondly,most art teachers are lack of the consciousness on discovering curriculum resources.Local ancient architectures are not highly focused and fully utilized.Finally,art education in normal colleges in China mainly focus on traditional Chinese painting,oil painting,sculpture and so on,resulting that art teachers are not professionally trained in architecture.Thus,the passive teaching pattern both in teaching and learning process.Xi'an is a city with historical and cultural monuments and is abundant in curriculum resources in such field.During the long time heritage and development,its unique trait on regional culture was formed.Combining local ancient architectural culture with development and utilization in elementary art education is feasible and necessary in inheriting the culture itself.In terms of the development and utilization of curriculum resources,teachers should be competent in developing curriculum.Up to now,ancient architectural culture is not efficiently utilized in elementary art education in Xi'an.From the perspective of art curriculum resources and based on the standard of art curriculum,this research aims at applying the ancient architectral culture in elementary art education.Related contents of textbooks used in Xi'an were analyzed by conducting survey on application of ancient architectural resources in elementary art education.Ancient architectural culture was classified through field investigation and literature retrieval.Contents which conform to elementary art education were selected.In accordance with general objective and periodical objectives in "Compulsory education art curriculum standard"(2011 Edition),combining contents about architectural culture in textbooks published by People's Fine Arts Publishing House,the teaching process was designed in perspective of curriculum resource utilization.Meanwhile,other resources that could be introduced and related strategies were put forward.The research provided the reference in attempting to introduce and develop local Xi'an architectural culture in elementary art education.
