Urumqi City National Social Work Localization Practice Experience Research

Ethnic social work is the cross of the ethnic work and the social work,it serves the ethnic groups under the professional theories and skills.The aims of ethnic social work are helping the group or individual to solve some problems,setting up psychological supporting net,increasing abilities and integrating into the community and the society.The ethnic social work has its own history;there are many advanced experiences in many countries,and there also were many scholars who did relevant researches.The first local provincial social work service center--X organization set up on the October 30th,2012,Urumqi;it is a NPO and NGO within the permission of the Department of Civil Affairs of Xinjiang.As the multiethnical social condition and the local top priority,its main job is the ethnic social work for Uyghur floating population.This research putting the X as the core under the perspective of Ethnology,using the field work's participant observation to observe the specific activities of its ethnic work practicing,recording the significant phenomena,doing in-depth interview with information men,analyzing the experiences,discussing the underlying reasons of these important cases,finding the possibilities of the development and providing references for the ethnic work.This paper including three main parts:the introduction,the text and the conclusion.The introduction part introduced the reason why this topic was selected and explained some main concepts.It also cleared up the developments and the relevant research results about the ethnic social work,and presented the research emphasis,research significance,theoretical framework and the research methods.The text part including five chapters.The chapter one presented the reasons,foundation and process of the X's establishment,as well as the staff and work programme.The chapter two introduced main cases about X's first formal ethnic work programme--the children social supporting and servicing programme.The chapter three presented revealed cases in different phases of the children community soccer team programme.The chapter four demonstrated the cases in the whole course of the women programme.And the chapter five explained and analyzed the different sections of the three programmes in the perspective of Ethnology.The conclusion part summarized and sublimated the important experiences in the X's ethnic work,and proposed some creative thoughts of the deep meaning and prospect of the ethnic work.
