A Report On Translation Of Talley And Son With CAT

Drama translation appeared more than forty years ago in the western countries.Compared with the translation studies of novels and poetries,it develops rather slowly.With the advancement of globalization,more and more works and documents need translating.In the meantime,new requirements for translation speed and translation quality are proposed.Therefore,Computer Aided Translation is playing an increasing part in it.In analyzing the various problems produced by literautre translation,the author chooses Talley and Son as the research object.With the help of SDL Trados Studio 2017,the author probes into the advantages and disadvantages of Computer Aided Translation by analysing some specific examples.Then,the author makes a summary about the drama translation aided by SDL Trados Studio 2017,aiming at providing some help and references for the later researchers.First of all,this translation practice report gives an introduction of the translation material,including the writer,content,and the features of the souce text.Then,the author discusses the significance of this translation practice report,including the theoretical significance and application value.Afterwards,the author takes a description on the course of the task.In addition,an explaination about Computer Aided Translation and SDL Trados Studio 2017 is given in the report.Besides,through specific case studies,the author addresses the assistance to the translation process as well as its deficiencies.Finally,the author summarizes the difficult points,applies some specific translation strategies and gives a general review.
