Practice Report On Chinese-English Translation Of Business Contracts

With the continuous development of world trade and the acceleration of the globalization process,trade between China and other countries has become increasingly frequent.Commercial contract,as an important part of trade,plays a key role in international business trade.At the same time,the translation of commercial contract has also attracted the attention of more scholars.At present,many scholars have studied the translation of contract from different aspects,but most of studies have stayed at the micro levels,ignoring macroscopic researches.Therefore,the translation study of commercial contract still needs further discussion and research.A commercial contract is an official document with legal effect for the purpose of business cooperation.The purpose of translation function in Germany is to realize the purpose of version as the first criterion for translation,so it is possible to conduct a new study on the translation of commercial contract from the perspective of Skopos theory.This practical report will provide an overview of this translation task and analyze the textual characteristics of the contract.Then the author will talk about the translation process,including pre-translation and translation theory preparation and post-translation issues.When conducting case analysis,the author starts with specific vocabulary and analyzes the application of formal vocabulary,archaic words,foreign words and modal verbs in contract.For the translation of contract sentences,the author chooses negative sentences and conditional sentences to provide specific evidence,which provides an example for the translation of such sentences in contract.This report will study the English translation of commercial contract from the macro level,and provide translation principles theoretical support for the English translation of contract texts,thus realizing the translation purpose.
