A Report On The Translation Of Intellectual Property Matters Agreement

This is a report on the translation of Intellectual Property Matters Agreement,which is a contract document signed by DXC Technology Company and Perspecta Inc.after reaching a consensus on intellectual property issues.Intellectual Property Matters Agreement covered in this translation report embodies the structure and features of the legal text.In the writing of the translation report,the contract text was taken for an example to discuss the translation of long and difficult sentences,and effective translation techniques has been put forward for the translation of long and difficult sentences,which mainly introduced the four translation techniques used by me in the translation practice,namely,linear translation(translate the original text according to the order of the original),reversion(translate the original text from back to front when the linear translation does not conform to the target language habit),splitting(translate the original text by splitting clauses or phrases of long sentences),and synthesizing(when a single translation technique is not enough to translate a whole paragraph,the above translation techniques are used comprehensively).The translation problems of long legal sentences encountered in this translation practice in legal long sentences and the translation techniques used to solve these problems can provide references for my future contractual text translation,and hope to provide reference for other legal translators.
