Thanks to the advancement of computer technology and programming algorithms, machine translation has gained unprecedented application and wider recognition in the language service industry since the 1940 s.Alongside that, the early machine translation also derived a practical and feasible computer-aided translation over recent decades. The computer-aided translation is an integrated part of today’s business translation process to achieve the best balance of cost, efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. However, research has not received corresponding attention on how to improve the efficiency and quality of computeraided translation through pre-editing and post-editing.This paper takes the Pricewaterhouse Coopers(Pw C)project as a research case and intends to explore the pre-editing and post-editing strategies adopted in the computer-aided translation of business Power Point files under the constraints of time and space from the perspectives of project characteristics, text types, and solutions in addressing translation difficulties. This paper hopes to help translators improve the quality and productivity of Power Point files translation in the commercial translation market;reduce unnecessary labor intensity and translation process cost;and strive to achieve the best balance between cost, quality, and efficiency. |
