Dalian Maritime University has set up a demonstration course,“Introduction to Marine Engineering”,for those studying on Sri Lanka campus and those majoring in navigation technology, law, rescue and salvage engineering and traffic management. The demonstration course is a bilingual instruction course with a wide range of contents including international conventions, domestic laws and regulations related to marine engine safety, environmental protection and management,as well as new technologies such as EFI diesel engine, gas engine and unmanned ship. The course has distinctive maritime characteristics, which is beneficial to professional students and social learners. In this report,10696 words are selected for English translation, which covers a wide range of contents, including the overall nature of the turbine, steam system, ballast system, compressed air system and ship propulsion system. In view of the number and frequency of the special terms and high reproduction rate of marine engineering translation, the author decided to adopt computer-aided translation and post editing, which greatly improved the translation efficiency. However, for words, phrases and sentences with low matching degree, detailed post editing should be conducted in combination with translation methods. This report describes the process of computer-aided translation in detail, and finds translation problems from vocabulary, sentence and classroom language in the process of post editing, and applies translation methods such as literal translation, free translation, splitting and conversion to solve the problems, aiming to provide reference to the translation of Marine engineering. |
