With the development of urbanization, more and more attention has been paid to how to build livable cities.Urban livability is a hot topic in the study of urban development, and it is also a focus of residents and the government. As one of the eight ancient capitals and the National Central city,Zhengzhou plays an important role in the central region and the whole country. However,at present, there are some problems in urban construction, such as imperfect public facilities and low quality of human environment,so the livable environment is poor and the attraction insufficient. In order to improve the competitiveness of Zhengzhou and create a comfortable and livable living environment for residents,it is urgent and important to accelerate the livable construction of Zhengzhou.Firstly, this thesis combs the theoretical basis and research progress of livability, and summarizes and reviews the existing research at home and abroad.Secondly, according to the principle of index construction and the actual situation of Zhengzhou City,we use questionnaires and POI data to construct the evaluation index system of livability of Zhengzhou City from the perspective of demand, and determine the index weight with the method of entropy weight, and evaluate the livability of various administrative districts and streets of Zhengzhou City, and analyses its spatial distribution situation. Then,we diagnose the obstacle factors and analyze the main obstacle factors that restrict the livable construction of Zhengzhou. Finally,we put forward some optimization ideas and countermeasures based on the planning construction and the current situation of the livable construction of Zhengzhou. The preliminary conclusions are as follows:(1)The livability of Zhengzhou is a bit low, which can not reach the general level.Among them, the cultural and innovative hierarchy and the environmental opening hierarchy are weaknesses which restricting the construction of livable cities in Zhengzhou.(2)The livability of high-tech(high tech industrial developmental zone)zones at living security and social security hierarchy are obviously higher than that of other seven districts. The livability of Guancheng District and Erqi District is the highest at environmental openness hierarchy, social security hierarchy, and culture and innovation hierarchy;the livability of Huiji District is the lowest at every hierarchy, and there is a big gap with other districts.(3)Zhengzhou has a lot of room for progress at social security, environmental openness, social inclusion, culture and innovation. The livability development of Zhengzhou is at the hierarchy of environmental openness.(4)In terms of the spatial distribution of livability, the suburbs with beautiful ecological environment and good development are more livable at the hierarchy of living security. At the hierarchy of social security, the areas with high comprehensive evaluation scores are located in the central area, such as Houzhai Township in the South and ShiBalihe Street in the west of the high-tech zone;and at the hierarchy of environmental openness, the areas with high scores are mainly located in the core or western part of the city center and the western of the high-tech zone, while the low-scoring northern and Eastern streets are basically lack of explicit aspects such as open space and transportation. At the social inclusion hierarchy, the highest score is the core area of the city, and the spatial distribution of the cultural and innovative level and the social inclusion hierarchy is very consistent. In addition, with the improvement of demand hierarchy, the livable areas in Zhengzhou are becoming more and more unbalanced.(5)Scientific research institutions,Park squares, public security management sites, commercial facilities, medical facilities distribution, cultural facilities, basic education distribution and acceptance are outstanding obstacles to livability construction in Zhengzhou at present. The sum of these eight obstacles to livability in Zhengzhou reaches 77.4% and we should concentrate on breaking through the obstacles.
