Research On Urban Community Home Care Service From The Perspective Of Active Ageing

With the development of medical conditions and living conditions,the life expectancy of the elderly has been increasing.By 2025,China will become a super senior country.Based on the current situation that the elderly population in China is increasing and the aging process is accelerating,the traditional concept of aging that regards the elderly as a social burden and focuses solely on the health of the elderly is no longer suitable for the current development.The idea of active aging caters to the grim reality of our country,which mainly refers to the elderly actively facing the elderly life,not only to maintain physical and mental health,but also to integrate into society and participate in social development as an important resource for families and society.The main way of providing for the elderly in China is family pension and institutional pension.However,with the family coreization and institutions dissatisfaction,these ways of providing elderly have brought great troubles and pressures to families and society.It will inevitably have a huge impact on social stability and economic development in the long run and it is imperative to change the way of providing for the elderly.The community home care is based on the family and the community,relying on professional services,combining the advantages of family pension and institutional pension,so that the elderly can enjoy relevant services in a familiar environment,which is widely praised by the society.However,the pension concept in our country is too negative now,and community home care for the elderly is still developing,which provides space for social work intervention.Based on the above problems,this study is under the guidance of the active aging theory,activity theory and social support network theory,involved in the community home care service,and goes deep into the social work agency community home care service project from the perspective of active aging.This paper explores the current situation and problems of community home care for the elderly in our country,and builds a three-in-one urban community home service model of “health”,“participation” and “guarantee” through field investigations,and reflect on the current community home care services and make recommendations.This paper conducts a questionnaire survey of 100 elderly people and 10 case interviews through the community home care service project of Z Institution in Zhangjiagang to gain an in-depth understanding of the community home care service operation model,service project content and needs of the elderly.It can be found that the community home care for the elderly in our country still lacks the concept of “elderly-oriented”.The service does not care about the needs and feelings of the elderly.The same model cannot satisfy and cater to the economic and cultural characteristics of each place,which makes the elderly in a passive position in service.Secondly,community home care services provided by social workers still remain at a shallower and passive level,and they don't design service project from the perspective of active aging.The service is only at the initial stage of instilling theory into the elderly and leading the elderly to activities.Service efficiency and service quality are both very low.In this regard,the following four suggestions are proposed: first,change the concept of elderly care and establish a positive attitude towards it;second,enrich the service level,build a systematic service system;third,construct a service mechanism to ensure the continuity of the elderly service;fourth,improve the service process and the quality of the elderly service.Through the above measures,we will provide better service and improve the living standards of the elderly and form a positive social trend,so that the elderly can regain their value in society and make them happy in their later years.
