Research On The Cooperative Pathway Of Urban Residents' Participating In Community Governance

The community is a basic constituent unit of the city.Therefore,community governance is closely related to the benign development of the city.With the rapid advancement of urbanization and sharp increase in urban population some serious problems and contradictions have emerged in community governance and have become much more complex and diverse in China.As the composition subject of urban communities,the residents are also important participants in community governance.Therefore,studying the pathway of residents' participation in community governance is extremely important for improving community governance.In this study,we took the S community of Zhengzhou for an example,using an expanded case method,together with literature retrieval,questionnaires,interviews and other methods.Firstly,the current status of residents'participation in community governance was described in some detail.Secondly,we analyzed various needs of residents for public governance,summed up the types of participants in community governance,and clarified the main tasks of community governance and mutual relationship among various participants.Our work analyzed the motivation,processes,mechanisms and results of residents' participation in community governance,and discussed the possible causes.Based on the previous studies,combining collaborative governance theory with civic awareness.We finally proposed an effective collaboration pathway that promotes the mutual trust,multiple collaboration,and orderly participation in community governance.(1)To construct public community culture&values will enhance residents' sense of belonging,civic awareness and willingness to participate in community governance.(2)The interaction and coordination mechanism of the governance should be further improved,with various participation channels and reduced resistance for residents to participate in community governance.(3)To cultivate social organizations and to enhance cooperation with non-profit organizations should be carried out positively.(4)Enhancement of the participation efficiency,optimization of the participation rules,integration of social resources as well as creation of benign external environment are also very important in community governance.The results will help to improve community governance.
