With the urbanization,cities are extremely vulnerable to disasters,such as floods,earthquakes,hurricanes and terrorist attacks,etc.Cities with strong resilience have a strong ability to adapt to uncertain disturbance.Conversely,other cities have poor response capability and inadequate adaptability to disasters.This research based on a large amount of literature,an overview of the resilience,resilience city theory and concept connotation and a study framework for resilient cities was conducted,and discussed the city resilience evaluation indicator system.By using theoretical analysis method,frequency analysis method,merged similar indicators,six major aspects of a resilient city evaluation framework has been collected: social resilience,economic resilience,institutional resilience,infrastructure resilience,community capital and environmental resilience.Then,using the method of Delphi,The initially constructed urban resilience evaluation indicator system is presented to the experts by the form of an urban resilience indicator consultation form,experts can select these indicators on the form.By integrating the opinions of experts,the urban resilience evaluation indicator system is finished that is composed of 6 primary indicators,25 secondary indicators,and 63 three-level indicators.Finally,the urban resilience evaluation indicator system was applied to Guangzhou,and all-round data analysis and evaluation of resilience was conducted.It was proposed that the construction of city resilience in China should focus on improving the educational level of the population,narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor,strengthening infrastructure foundation and so on.
