Status Research On Career Education In General High School

It is an undoubted and realistic proposition that career education throughout all education levels.Career education in high school is of great significance because the high school education is the connecting of secondary education and post-secondary education,but it is hard to advance constrained by the traditional education mechanism education idea.High school students are in the formation period of world outlook of life and values as well as choosing disciplines and majors,the top priority of high school is to help students to set up correct professional values and choose the appropriate majors and jobs,so it is necessary to implement career education in ordinary high school.Considering that the career education in General High School in our country is still in the exploration stage,it is of practical significance to know the current situation of career education in high school and propose appropriate countermeasures.3 high schools are selected in this study which in Zhengzhou.The career education problems in high school are following: The career planning ability of students is low,mainly display in four aspects which are self-knowledge,professional cognition,career decision-making and career planning.The lack of career education resource in high school,which mainly display in lack of specialized courses,signal career education activity forms,narrow career education content,shortage of specialized teachers,lack of network resource and social support.Some teachers lack the career education awareness and consciousness,which mainly display in one-sided career education awareness and seldom career education-mentioned on the class.The causes of these problems are following: Lack of policies and regulations,lack of financial funds.The school educators has insufficient knowledge about career education,there is no career education evaluation mechanism in high school.Parents' career education consciousness is weak and professional value is biased.Students have plain self-cognition and lacked vocational cognition,they also put learning goals first and excessively pursue professional reputation.Based on the problems and analysis above,there are some work to do in order to develop the career education in General High School.The government should improve the career education safeguard mechanism,set up the professional association,strength the supervision of propaganda education department.Improving the teaching of career education in high school,vigorously develop the career education curriculum and build the implementation form.The high school should build a professional teaching team,improve the career education knowledge of all teachers and launch enterprises,communities,parents and other social linkage forces to join the career education.The students should improve career planning consciousness,foster self-cognition and career cognition,develop career plan and implement it gradually.
