"Guided Reading of Masterpieces" is an important part of Chinese teaching in junior high school,which is also a section of Chinese textbooks.The latest edition of"Chinese Curriculum Standard for Full-time Compulsory Education"(2011)has stipulated that students in grade seven to nine should learn to formulate their own reading plans,have a wide range of reading materials,read two or three masterpieces every school year and the total reading words no less than 2.6 million.However,in the front-line teaching of junior middle schools,the teaching situation of the "guided reading of masterpieces" is not optimistic.Most schools and teachers only go through the motions which result in serious consequences of false reading and teaching,leading to the utilitarian nature of "guided reading of masterpieces".As a result,the students put their scores above everything else and naturally have greater randomness in reading.Thus,it is not possible for them to complete the requirements for reading masterpieces according to "Chinese Curriculum Standard for Full-time Compulsory Education"(2011).Therefore,it is necessary and feasible for the investigation and research on the teaching of "Guided Reading of Masterpieces" in junior middle schools.This thesis takes Yanji No.4 Middle School in Jilin Province as a sample to deeply explore the teaching situation of junior middle school in "Guided Reading of Masterpieces".It is divided into five chapters,namely,the introduction,teaching theories and textbooks analysis of junior middle schools' "guided reading of masterpieces",teaching surveys of Yanji No.4 Middle School's current situation,the existing problems and reason analysis,and improvement strategies.In the process of research,the author takes the two sides of teachers and students as the breakthrough point to discuss the existing problems.As for the main problems of teachers,it includes the lack of reading,the utilitarian nature of teaching objectives,the shallow analysis of teaching contents,and arbitrariness of teaching methods and evaluation.In regard to students,they read the masterpieces more utilitarian and entertaining.Based on the existing problems,the author analyzes the reasons after a deep understanding of Yanji No.4 Middle School's Chinese teaching situation.On the one hand,teachers' reasons contain the lack of self-improvement,the unclear objectives of teaching,the fragmentation of teaching contents,the outdated teaching methods and the arbitrary teaching evaluation.On the other hand,the students' reasons include their heavy schoolwork,high pressure and lack of aesthetic judgment.The author reads relative materials and takes the methods of "literature,observation,case study,interview and investigation" under the guidance of teaching theories of "guided reading of masterpieces".In accordance with the current teaching situation,the author attempts to consider the situation and existing problems,provide different strategies,reflect the gains and loss and seeks for the teaching solutions from the aspects of teachers and students based on the new curriculum concept,hoping to help the improvement and promotion of teaching effects of junior middle schools'guided reading of masterpieces and provide some references for effective teaching.
