With the deepening of educational curriculum reform and the gradual development of urbanization,the teaching of reading has attracted more and more attention from educators.In the primary school Chinese classroom teaching,the elementary school student's available spare time greatly reduces,wants to satisfy the elementary school student to the knowledge study the demand,only relies on the classroom reading is unable to realize,but also must combine the extracurricular reading.Effective extracurricular reading plays an important role in improving students ' ability of language expression and promoting students ' spiritual growth and personality development.Because of the imbalance of economic development in urban and rural areas,the students ' extracurricular reading status is not very significant.This paper comprehensively uses the literature analysis,the questionnaire survey,the interview,the comparison research and so on many different research methods,carries on the investigation to the urban and rural primary school senior student.First,through the distribution of questionnaires to understand the overall situation of extracurricular reading of small students.Secondly,from the extracurricular reading interest,time,content,guidance,environment and other aspects of the current situation of the comparative analysis,to explore the differences between extra-curricular reading;On this basis,the reasons for the above content are analyzed: The backward reading concept reduces the rural pupils ' extracurricular reading interest;The basic conditions of reading for rural pupils are not guaranteed The examination-oriented education thought directly influences the extracurricular reading content,the countryside teacher lacks the effective instruction to the extracurricular reading,the rural primary school education funds investment insufficiency,the reading resource shortage.Finally,the specific improvement measures are put forward: changing the reading concept,stimulating the students ' extracurricular reading interest,creating reading conditions,cultivating pupils ' extracurricular reading habits,renewing the idea of "examination-oriented",optimizing the extracurricular reading content,improving the professional quality of rural teachers,strengthening the effective guidance to the pupils,increasing the funds input and improving the extracurricular reading environment.Hope that through this study,it is of great significance for the educators to pay enough attention to the extracurricular reading,to change the idea of education,to promote the development of teaching,to carry out reading activities for the teachers and students,to reflect on their own teaching problems,to improve the education equity,to promote the balanced development of education and to carry out the strategy of revitalizing the rural areas.
