Taking root in China,disseminating modern scientific knowledge and inheriting the Chinese excellent traditional culture,which are the fundamental requirement of meeting the educational concept of the new era,carrying out the spirit of the report of the 19 th Chinese People's Congress by the Communist Party of China and developing education that meets the needs of people.In addition,the educational function of ideological and political course is defined while the goal of improving students' comprehensive ability and cultivating core academic quality is highlighted by the new version of the curriculum standards of ideological and political course in senior high school.The transformation of new curriculum objectives and the present situation of misuse of ideological and political teaching require classroom teaching to explore new teaching approaches,select and apply teaching cases with specification,enrich teaching contents with cases,improve teaching effect,bring the educational characteristics of ideological and political courses full play,and improve the quality of personnel training.The case teaching approach,guided by cultivating students' autonomous learning ability the basic principles of selecting and applying cases are abstracted from teaching practice,which guides teachers to follow the teaching process from individual to general on the basis of the teaching cases application with specification,cultivate students' divergent thinking ability,generalization and summary ability and knowledge transfer ability,and subtly help students establish correct outlook on world,life and values with typical cases.The main research content of this paper is divided into four parts: Firstly,the author explains the case teaching approach and its characteristics,explores the theoretical basis of the case teaching approach,and defines the core concept of the case teaching approach accordingly based on reviewing the origin of the case teaching approach.In the second part,the author explains the basic requirements of selecting cases in the ideological and political course teaching in senior high school,which focus on the general principle of selecting cases in the case teaching approach and combiningwith the curriculum nature of the ideological and political course in senior high school.Next,the author analyzes the application scope and restrictive factors of the case teaching approach in the senior high school ideological and political course teaching,puts forward the organizational process and implementation steps of the case teaching approach in the senior high school ideological and political course teaching,and carries out the empirical analysis with a specific case.Finally,the author summarizes the possible problems existing in the application of the case teaching approach in senior high school ideological and political course teaching,and discusses the relevant strategies and measures for the rational usage of the case teaching approach in senior high school ideological and political course teaching with a multi-dimensional perspective.On the basis of consulting relevant literature,the author discusses the application process of case teaching approach in senior high school ideological and political course teaching and attempts to provide a new idea and perspective for the better service of case teaching approach in high school ideological and political course teaching by using practical observation,case analysis and comparative research method,and combining with the teaching experience gained in the process of teaching practice.
