Modern fiction teaching is an indispensable part of modern text reading teaching in junior middle school Chinese course.Fictions have displayed one fictional world after another based on reality and beyond reality with their unique forms so that students can undergo the experience of figures and feel the feelings of figures in the plots with twists and turns and carefully set environment.So fictions have strong readability.Effective modern fiction teaching is of great significance for cultivating students' reading interests,improving their reading ability,and enriching their life experience and is one of the core power to develop students' Chinese competencies.Moreover,with the latest development of international and domestic teaching requirement on mother tongue(the proposition of PISA2018 reading quality and Chinese discipline core competencies),the connotations of Chinese competencies contained in Chinese Course Standard for Compulsory Education(2011 edition)have been enriched,thus bringing new influence and inspirations on the teaching of junior middle school modern fictions.However,when we look back at the status of junior middle school modern fiction teaching,many problems still exist in the “teaching” of teachers and “learning” of students.Therefore,based on the studies of predecessors and new inspirations on the development of Chinese competencies,the thesis adopts literature analysis method,questionnaire survey method,and case analysis method to disclose problems in the teaching of junior middle school modern fictions and propose corresponding solutions.This thesis consists of four parts.Chapter One is the Preface.It includes the research origin,research objectives,domestic and overseas research status,and research significance,methods and innovative points of the thesis.Based on defining “junior middle school modern fictions”and the connotations of “the teaching of junior middle school modern fictions”,Chapter Two introduces the important significance of modern fiction teaching.Moreover,based on international and domestic requirement on mother tongue teaching in the new era,the thesis discusses the new inspirations brought by the development of Chinese competencies on the teaching of junior middle school modern fictions,which is also one of the major innovative point of the thesis;Based on the investigation and analysis of the current status,Chapter Three discloses problems of teachers and students respectively.Targeting problems of teachers and students,Chapter Four figures out solutions and strategies from three aspects of teachers' own teaching,cultivation of students' reading habits,and teaching evaluation.Then,the thesisproposes four teaching strategies for teachers: “read relevant works and stress the shift from theories to practices”,“breaking teaching templates and master the whole text through key penetration points”,“pay attention to stylistic features and provide the key for students to understand fictions”,and “put in place extended reading and promote the improvement in students' thinking development”,supplemented by the strategies to cultivate students' reading habits and effective teaching evaluation strategies.It is hoped that this can provide some beneficial references to the teaching of modern fictions by frontline Chinese teachers at junior middle schools.
