The primary school which is located in Xiamen doesn't possess the most abundant teacher strength and the best students.However,it exudes unique charm due to a special history.It is the birthplace of Team Song of Young Pioneers of China.The primary school was built under the patriotic feeling of overseas Chinese during the troubled times.Its legacy derived from aheroic action under the specific historical conditionsin early years of our country when Hecuo Primary School advocated the faith that"The gentleman works hard on the basic principles,thereafter comes morality."Now we are in a peaceful age,enjoying the development of society and economy,but the phenomenon of of"Put the cart before the horse"in education has become the focus among the educational researchers.Therefore,teaching staff in Hecuo Primary School are facing with the most important subject on how to maintain the essence in contemporary China.As a native,basing on her strong sense of local culture identity and the sense of mission as an educator,Principal He Yalin took the opportunity of promoting "the New Curriculum Standards Reform" in 17 years of teaching.She used the independent research and development(independent R&D)of the school-based curriculum to promote the educational concept which advocates that "Education is everywhere,all participants should be involved in the educational activities and benefit from them."She infused the idea into the curriculum development of the school,which led the school to explore the practice of education.Through the research method of educational anthropology,it shows the readers the educational practice of a primary school with the principal as the core and all educators involved.And it describes a real case of educational practice of "human-oriented construction and adherence" through the school-based curriculum system focusing on aesthetic education.
