Peer interaction is an important influencing factor in college students'learning career.It can indirectly affect students' learning quality through the learning processes such as their learning views and learning methods.At the same time,it can also directly affect students' specific learning gains.It is an important educational element to promote the fundamental task of"fostering virtue through education"in China.In the classical university influence model,peer interaction has always been regarded as an important part of the University environment.It is a"process"variable in the theoretical model of University influence,which can greatly affect the learning and development of college students.In China's universities,where dormitories,professional classes and student associations are the basic student organizations,students communicate frequently with each other,and the effect of peer influence is obvious.Peer interaction has become an important and satisfying University experience for Chinese college students.Whether in theory or in practice,peer interaction has been proved to be an important factor affecting the development of college students.Guided by Pascarella's General Model for Assessing Change and based on the survey data of NCSS database in 2017,this study subdivides peer interaction into in-class peer interaction and out-of-class peer interaction through exploratory and verifiable analysis.From these two aspects,this study attempts to clarify the current situation of peer interaction among different groups of college students in China.This study explores the influence factors of peer interaction of college students both in and out of class,and analyses the influence of individual factors of students and college education factors on college students'peer interaction.Through analysis,this study draws the following conclusions:Firstly,according to the overall peer interaction characteristics of college students in China,the peer interaction in the classroom of college students in China is good and tends to be the interactive form of group discussion;the average number of college students participating in peer interaction outside class is about 2 times,and the participation in community activities in college is the main.Secondly,according to the characteristics of peer interaction of different groups of college students who are in romantic relationship and as student cadres perform better in class peer interaction and participate more in extracurricular peer interaction;urban students have better peer interaction performance in class,while rural college students have more extracurricular peer interaction;the number of orphans'participation in extracurricular peer interaction activities was the highest,while two-parent families have minimum number of times of participation;the number of siblings is inversely proportional to peer interaction in class and is proportional to the number of participation of extracurricular peer interaction activities;the performance of student peer interaction and the participation of extracurricular peer interaction activities are directly proportional to the student grade;Students in 211 Colleges do not perform well in peer interaction in class,and students in different colleges have different performances of extracurricular peer interaction;students in literature subject have better peer interaction performance in class,while students in agriculture,industry and medicine science have a low degree of peer interaction participation outside class.Thirdly,according to the influence factors of peer interaction among college students in China,college education can improve peer interaction performance in class,especially the teaching form of Flipped Classroom.Individual characteristics are the important influencing factors of students'extracurricular peer interaction,among which whether students act as student cadres has the greatest influence.In view of the above conclusions,this study suggests:In order to improve the performance of peer interaction among college students,it is necessary to guide educational resources in the development of colleges to enhance students'classroom experience,promote teaching strategies of group cooperation and discussion in curriculum teaching,and encourage peers from different backgrounds to communicate and share with each other in student management.In order to improve the level of extracurricular peer interaction of college students in China,colleges can construct practical education factors of different disciplines based on the status of extracurricular peer interaction.At the same time,different types of colleges should identify the weak parks in extracurricular peer interaction,and then take targeted measures to improve the level of extracurricular peer interaction.In the course of teaching,we can arouse the enthusiasm of engineering students to participate in the science creation competition,and make up for the shortcomings of our college students'extracurricular peer interaction activities.
