STEM education refers to the general term of science,technology,engineering,and mathematics.STEM education is an educational method that combines rigorous theoretical concepts with the integration of four disciplines and courses in real life.From the perspective of subject characteristics,curriculum standards and junior high school geography teaching content,geography has comprehensive,practical and social characteristics,involving science,technology,engineering and mathematics,which integrates with STEM disciplines and trains students to solve problems.Educational concepts such as problem ability are consistent.Due to the comprehensive,practical and social characteristics of geography,studentscience s can obtain useful geography in life,do middle school and learn to think,let students experience the application of geography in daily life,and improve students' learning.Geographical interest.The author explores the concept of STEM education in junior high school geography teaching to a certain extent can improve students' interest in learning geography and promote students' comprehensive quality improvement,and promote the development of junior high school geography curriculum.Based on the characteristics of the two,the author will integrate STEM education into the junior high school geography subject,try to develop STEM-based junior high school geography case,and apply STEM education in the junior high school geography teaching class.This paper explores the connotation and characteristics of STEM education,enumerates the principles of curriculum development,summarizes the new requirements of the development curriculum for teachers,in the case development section,this article follows 1,select the course learning theme;2.Determine the teaching objectives of the curriculum;3,the design of the course learning activities;4,the design of the course study evaluation These four steps were carried out based on the STEM-based case development:"Building the Greenhouse" lesson.Try to apply the knowledge of science,technology,engineering,and mathematics in the subject,break the separation between disciplines,and infiltrate the disciplines.Provide reference for front-line teachers,so that knowledge can be better transmitted to students,improve students' enthusiasm and develop students'comprehensive ability such as hands-on ability and problem-solving ability to cultivate students with all-round development.Finally,it summarizes the problems existing in STEM education practice in junior high school teaching and proposes corresponding countermeasures.
