The Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Course is the key stage for students to accumulate knowledge and develop skills,which should be focused on both basic and comprehensive aspects.It is very important to adopt and master effective teaching methods to give full play to the characteristics and advantages of this kind course.The “Performed Culture Approach” concentrates on the cultural experience as well as rehearsal,and emphasizes the dynamic and practical nature of language learning,meanwhile,attaches importance to cultivating intercultural communicative competence.This kind of teaching approach suggests the trinity of “structure,culture and function”,which is more advantageous to realize goals for the development of learners' abilities according to the “Core Curriculum of Elementary Education in the Year 2008 of Thailand”.Therefore,the author introduces it into the Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Course of Thailand secondary school to explore the applicable teaching mode and method.This paper focuses on the “Performed Culture Approach” from six chapters: the first chapter introduces the relevant background,the origin and significance of study,and the dynamic research at home and abroad,then reviews the current researches to clarify its development context.The second chapter expounds theoretical bases and characteristics.In addition,the paper analyzes the Chinese researches of students in Songpittayakom school.Thus,the feasibility of the teaching approach is demonstrated through both theory and investigation.The third and the fourth chapters are research priority.Firstly,the author studies from the aspects of language environment,teaching environment,the role of teachers and students,the content of teaching materials and so on.Then,the author makes detailed analyses and discussions.Secondly,according to the characteristics and regulations of the “Performed Culture Approach”,the author has determined the corresponding teaching principles,teaching models and teaching objectives.In order to investigate the practical application of this method in actual teaching,the author has made the overall design of the first study period from the macro perspective,taking the comprehensive courses of senior two as samples.In the micro perspective,the author has shown the specific teaching with the first course “Food” as an example learning content,process and thinking.The fifth chapter,through the quantitative analysis,the author verified the effect of this teaching approach,which found that it plays an active role in enhancing students' interests in learning,maintaining motivation,promoting knowledge internalization,and improving language skills.Last chapter,this paper balances its advantages and limitations,and put forward the corresponding improvement strategies in order to provide useful reference for the teaching of Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Course in Thailand secondary school.
