Cadres of student leagues in colleges and universities is backbone of the Communist Youth League.The degree of their engagement during work affects the work quality of the Communist Youth League.Work engagement is a persistent state of mental behavior that individuals have in the face of work.It is manifested in the positive emotional experience of the individual at work,the sensitive and focused cognition and the simultaneous and holistic existence of the highly motivated physical state.The work engagement of the league cadres refers to their recognition and love of their duties and responsibilities in terms of emotion.It also refers to their mental state of concentration,active exploration and dedication.The university administrators should understand the structure,state of engagement and influences of the league cadres' work engagement in order to improve the validity of their management,at the same time take relevant measures to enhance the league cadres' work engagement accordingly.This research will sum up the structure of league cadres' work engagement by analyzing and summarizing the interview data.On the basis of this,a questionnaire was compiled to investigate the work engagement of league cadres.Finally,by using the method of case study to explore the factors that affect the work engagement degree of league cadres,the researcher hoped to help improve the work management of the Communist Youth League in colleges.On the basis of combing the relevant research,this research adopted both qualitative and quantitative research methods.Taking a league cadre from H University as the research object,the researcher probed into the structure of work engagement and the general situation of work engagement degree of league cadres.In addition,the researcher also probed into the influences of their engagement through case study.It is found that the work input structure of league cadres includes the following four dimensions.First,cognitive engagement: refers to league cadres' perceptual belief from work itself during work.Second,emotional engagement: the sentiment and emotion of league cadre during work,which is also their attitude and emotional experience towards work.Third,intentional engagement: league cadres' behavior intention and the determination overcome the difficulties during work,which means they are willing and determined to fulfill the work.Behavioral engagement: the degree of effort and performance of student league cadres during work.The investigation through questionnaire of work engagement made by the researcher revealed that the work engagement of the league cadres from H University presented polarization tendency: the score of behavior engagement was relevantly low.The factors affecting the work engagement are reflected in four aspects.First,love and recognition of work at the individual level,task-oriented characteristics,work attitude,steady personality,reflection and summary competence and responsibility;second,individual pressure,working environment,preparation and cognition of work and feedback mechanism;third,organizational support,a sense of belonging,and good interpersonal relationships within the organization;fourth,outside assistance.It is suggested to strengthen the training of the cadres' quality and establish the core values;to enhance the support of the cadres,enhance the sense of belonging,reduce internal interpersonal consumption and conflict;to strengthen the peer exchange,build the platform of work exchange for league cadres,construct the guidance and assistance mechanism for the teachers.
