| New teachers generally refer to the group of teachers engaging in teaching for a shorter time(1-3 years).Compared with mature teachers,new ones are facing the biggest challenge,including less teaching experience,fewer teaching materials,the lack of classroom teaching and the practical problems directly related to it.Geography course is the only comprehensive course in middle school,which spans two learning fields of“humanities and society” and “science”.Therefore,it is more challenging for new geography teachers to implement classroom teaching.Breaking the bottleneck of classroom teaching requires new teachers' efforts in all aspects.Among them,making good use of geographical teaching materials is not only an effective way to improve the quality of teaching,but also the only way for new teachers to grow professionally.The purpose of “research on the implementation path of the effective use of teaching materials by new geography teachers in senior high school” is to explore the implementation path of the effective use of “geography teaching materials” in classroom teaching from the perspective of new teachers,and finally achieve the goal of cultivating students' geographical core qualities.This study attempts to achieve two research objectives: first,to understand and grasp the difficulties of new geography teachers since their entry into the job and the difficulties of using teaching materials in classroom teaching;second,to explore an effective way to use teaching materials for new teachers.In order to achieve the above objectives,the following research ideas and methods are followed:(1)first-hand materials are obtained in the form of surveys(teacher questionnaires,student questionnaires,teacher interviews,etc.);(2)new geography teachers and students are connected in classroom teaching under the guidance of educational teaching theories such as “meaningful learning theory” and “geography teaching materials”;(3)put forward the implementation path of effective use of teaching materials,and carry out empirical research to evaluate the effect of classroom teaching.Three conclusions are drawn from the study.First,geography teaching materials are supplementary materials that meet the characteristics of geography.What's more,they serve geography classroom teaching purposefully and cultivate students' core quality ofgeography.Teaching materials affect the quality of teaching,and their effective use has a certain impact on the professional development of new geography teachers in senior high school.Second,the difficulties faced by new geography teachers in senior high school are as follows.For example,classroom teaching is the biggest difficulty for new teachers.And the lack of teaching materials accumulation restricts the performance of classroom.The selection system of teaching materials is also not mature.Besides,the application effect of teaching materials in classroom is not good.Third,the implementation of effective use of teaching materials consists of the following steps.First,we should establish the geographical teaching material database.Second,we ought to select teaching materials.Next,let us select teaching methods.Then,we need to carry out classroom teaching.After that,we had better reflect on teaching materials according to the teaching effect.Finally,we are supposed to improve the geographical teaching material database.The empirical results show that the implementation of teaching materials in classroom teaching has a significant effect on classroom atmosphere,students' interest in learning and test scores. |
