Under the double impetus of the new college entrance examination reform and the trend of basic education reform,career education is becoming more and more important in high school.The connotation and characteristics of career education determine that it is an activity that needs to break the boundaries of school and use more social resources.This case study selects a high school named S in city Q,and focuses on the utilization of social resources in career education of senior high school.Based on the review of school S's practice course in the utilization of social resources of the past 10 years,the study analyzes each single part of the whole utilization process,and present the problem in each part.On this basis,the study explains the reasons and puts forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.Interview,observation and physical collection were used in this research to investigate the utilization of social resources in school S's career education.The whole process mainly includes five parts: mutual needs,communication and connection,activity implementation,guarantee and incentive,and also feedback.In the first part,the study shows that school S and the social institutions,like enterprises,factory,colleges and universities,have complementary needs,and they have the same concept in career education.In the second part,acquaintance relationship plays a major role in the connection of school S and social institutions,while official guidance plays an auxiliary role.In the third part,school S is responsible for overall arrangement,and social institutions are responsible for providing resources and specific implementation.In the fourth part,the guarantee measures were improved continuously and spiritual encouragement was emphasized.In the last part,there are short-term feedback,long-term feedback,and also the feedback from social institutions to school S,and the feedback from school S to city Q's Education Department and other feedback routes.There are still many problems in the process of using social resources in school S.there are many obstacles when initiate it;the communication and connection between the two sides are limited;the implementation sometimes are deviated from the intentions;the measures like supporting and encourage are not enough,and the feedback and evaluation are insufficient.In view of these problems,this study analyzes the reasons from the three levels of government,school and society,and on this basis,puts forward the following suggestions in order to improve the utilization of social resources in career education of senior high school in China.Firstly,strengthen the role of government guidance,build a platform for cooperation of both school and the social institutions;secondly,stimulate more group motivation,and promote all participants to reach a consensus;thirdly,clarify the main responsibilities of each side and improve the implementation effect;last but not least,improve the supporting measures and build a feedback evaluation system.
