At present,small class teaching has become the development trend of education reform both at home and abroad,more and more education researchers and teachers in the front-line have put forward their own opinions and suggestions on small class teaching.In the context of small class teaching,teachers have more energy to conduct differentiated and targeted teaching.therefore this requires geography teachers change the traditional teaching mode,set up take the student as the main body of teaching ideas,respect the individual differences of students,using various forms of teaching activities and continuously stimulate students' interest in learning geography teaching mode,to guide students from passive learning into active learning,actively construct knowledge.Through the flexible use of various teaching modes,and combined with the characteristics of small class,create a good learning atmosphere and equal and harmonious relationship between teachers and students,so as to promote the development of students' personality,improving students' ability to analyze and solve problems,to enhance the students' ability of practice and innovation.First of all,this paper studies mainly under the guidance of constructivism,humanism and education theory of multiple intelligences,generalization and summarization by small-class teaching model research status at home and abroad,and combined with the characteristics of small class teaching,points out by the army of the transformation of teaching in small class teaching brought about by the various changes,it mainly includes the changes of teaching hardware environment,classroom teaching links,diversified curriculum activities and teacher-student interaction.Analysis and summary of small class teaching is conducive to the establishment of students as the main teaching ideology,it is conducive to teaching according to their aptitude,to promoting the development of students' personality,to creating a good learning atmosphere,a democratic and equal relationship between teachers and students,and to promoting the common progress of teachers and students,how to choose and optimize the teaching mode under the change is put forward to give full play to the advantages of small class.It is pointed out that the choice of teaching mode should reflect the teaching concept of students as the main body and promote the development of students' active learning and personality.Then the paper also proposes five teaching modes with the characteristics of small class teaching and geography subject,it includes discussion teaching mode,independent and cooperative teaching mode,role playing teaching mode,activity experience teaching mode and stratified teaching mode,advantages,operating steps,requirements and case application of five teaching modes are also presented,It is hoped to provide a reference for the small class teaching model and enrich the teaching model theory in the small-class teaching environment.Finally,this paper argues that in a small class teaching should choose teaching model,analyzing the specific issues through flexible use of various teaching mode to the greatest degree of play the advantage of small class teaching,promote the development of students' personality,improving the level of small class teaching.
