Under the background of rapid economic development and vigorous development of vocational education,vocational education ushered in a golden opportunity.Secondary vocational education is one of the important elements of vocational education.It carries the important task of cultivating hundreds of millions of highly qualified and skilled personnel.Whether secondary vocational schools can cultivate talents or not that meet the needs of society lies in the professional course offered,because course offered is the main basis for school teaching activities and an important way to implement the training objectives.However,in reality,there is an embarrassing situation in which professional counterparts' ability and literacy do not match.The skills and qualities that vocational school graduates receive and acquired in school don't meet the needs of the skills and qualities the society requires.For this reason,it is necessary to reform and improve the course offered in vocational schools.This study starts from Dalian's economic development and investigates Dalian's employers' need for talents.The capabilities here include qualities,knowledge,and skills that should be possessed.This study investigates the course offered in Dalian S School International Business to see whether the course offered has cultivated these abilities,from which to judge whether the talents cultivated in vocational and technical schools meet the needs of society.If the two do not adapt,analyze the existing problems,and then optimize the current course offered basing on the related educational theories in order that Dalian Secondary Vocational Education can better serve the local economic development.This study focuses on four issues,which ar:(1)What are the requirements of the rapid economic development of Dalian for International Business students?(2)What is the course offered of International Business major in secondary vocational schools?(3)Does the ability that the secondary vocational schools' students have meet the needs of social development?(4)How can we improve the course offered of secondary vocational school?This study is composed of five chapters: The introduction is the first chapter.The background and significance of this research,literature review at home and abroad as well as the research content and methods are mentioned in this chapter,too.The second chapter gives readers the definition of the related terms and briefly summarizes the theoretical basis.The third chapter investigates the situation of social needs in Dalian,analyzes and summarizes the types of demand of talents needed by employers.The fourth chapter introduces the situation and problems of the course offered of International Business in Dalian S school and analyzes the adaptability of course offered in secondary vocational schools and social needs.The fifth chapter puts forward five optimization suggestions on the course offered of secondary vocational school according to the contents of the third chapter and the fourth chapter.They are:(1)increasing the hours of the training course and the total duration of the comprehensive training;(2)increasing the selection scope of course content with the hope of students' overall development;(3)enriching teaching methods;(4)rationally arranging the learning sequence of basic knowledge and skills;(5)strengthening teachers' skills.In this study,literature review methods,investigation methods,word frequency analysis methods,and expert scoring methods are used.By analyzing the situation of course offered of International Business in secondary vocational schools and trying to put forward proposals that can be improved,we hope that the school-cultivated talents will meet the needs of employers and contribute to regional economic development.
