With the gradually deepening of targeted poverty alleviation work, the outline of"China's 13th five-year plan" has required that," Take extraordinary measures, and intensify efforts to alleviate poverty to win the battle against poverty".Moreover the plan sets a goal of overall poverty reduction by 2020,and the key is to elimination of the intergenerational transmission of poverty which leads to Chronic Poverty. The researches in China are mainly about the education blocking mechanism of the poverty generation, and lack of the systematic study about health. However, since Msuhkin(1962)regarded the health as a part of human capital theory, the health is gradually becoming an vital factor to affect individual development as important as education. This paper is based on the aspect of blocking the root of poverty, start form intergenerational health. On the one hand,we study the influence of health of motherhood on babies. On the other hand,we begin with the health of child, explore the relationship between the child's health and adult's socioeconomic status.Based on the data of CHNS,this paper tries to affirm the standpoints above-mentioned by using the probit aggression model.According to the results, both mother's health and income level have significantly positive effect on her baby's health, and her unhealthy living habits will negatively affect the baby's health. The robust tests support the above conclusions. And we also prove women's best reproductive age.In terms of mother's education, there's no positive role in promoting baby's health condition in rural China and western China.Meanwhile, for the purpose of making mother's influence prominent,we trade father as control group, and we find the influence about father is same as mother, which different is significance, with no doubt that mother's influence is more profound than father's.Furthermore,we confirm that the health of babies will determine his future socioeconomic status. In the course of empirical research,we choose family's total income and census as instrumental variables to eliminate the endogenous of health. After that, compare with OLS,the result shows that there is a little difference in significance, the influence of explaining variables are same, they all are good for future socioeconomic status. In addition,we find that the influence channel is by education rather than his mature health.
