With the recovery of global economy,the mass' s demand for cultural entertainment has gradually been released and growing rapidly.The development of worldwide media industry is quite obviously.From the year 2010 to 2016,its market size maintained an annual growth rate of 5% or above.While China is less influenced by world economy recession,its media industry has growing steadily,strongly driven by Internet technology which is keeping updating and widely applied in various areas.From 2010 to 2016,Chinese media industry has witnessed an expanding market size and an annual growth rate of 10% or above.With its economy slowing down,China's media industry had a growth rate of 12.3% in 2015,19.1% in 2016,and the gross value reached 1.6078 trillion Yuan.Chinese cultural and media industry has entered a golden era.Influenced by market economy and democratic politics,the cultural policy is getting loose.Meanwhile,with the promotion of Internet technology and social capital,the media industry develops quite well and the competition within the industry is getting more and more intense.In the context of China's society and economy's continual interaction with the whole world,national media companies face fierce challenges from both international theories and worldwide competitors.This dual pressure demands higher standards for national media companies.It's critically important and urgent for media companies to improve the core competence to realize sustainable development.This thesis,based on the theory of culture production,corporate capability and corporate core competence,focuses on Nanjing A media company's corporate culture development process,present status and its relation with the company's core competence.The author tries to figure out how corporate culture benefits its core competence,and has reached some conclusions as follows.1.Nanjing A media company's corporate culture has positive correlation with its core competence.This thesis divides A company's cultural development into four phases,makes comparison between cultural construction with corporate development,proves corporate culture's role in the improvement of core competence.2.This thesis analyses the mechanism how corporate culture promotes core competence in Nanjing A company.Firstly,the company cultivates positive corporate culture,thus encourages employees to innovate new products and new technology.This results in satisfaction of the customers and the market,bringing greater market share and good reputation for the company.Secondly,the construction of corporate culture interacts with the company's business environment and resources and structures,also making contributions to its core competence.3.This thesis underlines some problems in Nanjing A company's culture construction,such as short-term misleading,disconnection with its products,lack of participation of seniors managers,authorization culture,absence of inner policies.Some solutions and suggestions are also provided by the author: always bearing culture construction in mind,product-oriented culture construction,less authority factors,more participation of employees and regular appraising systems.To sum up,this thesis systematically analyses the relation between culture construction and core competence for media companies,provides suggestions for Nanjing A media company to improve its core competence.At the same time,it hopefully contributes some thoughts for national media companies to improve their core competence.
