An Analysis On Japan’s Policy Towards China Under The Influence Of Trumpism

Since ancient times,China and Japan have been neighbors with water.China-Japan relations are one of the most significant bilateral relations in China,and the healthy and stable Sino-Japanese relations are in the common national interests of China and Japan.On August 28,2020,Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced his resignation for personal health,ending Japan’s longest re-election for nearly eight years.During Abe’s administration,the development of Sino-Japanese relations was a rolling curve.His active visit to the shrine led to a deterioration in Sino-Japanese relations and stagnation.Since 2017,U.S.President Donald Trump has pursued unilateralism and trade Protectionist policies have impacted the free trade system,and the development prospects and overall interests of East Asian countries have been threatened to varying degrees.Under the external environment of "Trumpism ",the countries of the world need to strengthen cooperation to deal with this severe situation.Japan’s internal and diplomatic issues can not be separated from stable Sino-Japanese relations,because Japan’s illegal "nationalization" of the Diaoyu Islands and interrupted for several years of high-level government exchanges between China and Japan have been restored,and the prospects for Sino-Japanese relations have gradually improved.Since then,Sino Japanese relations have entered a new era.Abe resigned from Japan’s prime minister in spite of his illness Abe remains a member of Congress and will not easily withdraw from the historical stage.As Prime Minister Naoto Kan Yiwei "Abe’s successor ",Abe’s policy on China is bound to have a significant impact on the " Naoto Kan " policy on China.Therefore,this paper focuses on the adjustment of Japan’s policy towards China under the influence of "Trumpism" after Trump came to power in 2017,a series of achievements in the new era of Sino-Japanese relations,the influence of post-Trump era "Trumpism" on future Sino-Japanese relations and the development trend of Sino-Japanese relations in the future after Trump stepped down.
