Teachers’ professional ethics is an essential aspect of accomplishments for a teacher.Teachers’ accomplishment directly affects students’ physical and mental health development and the effectiveness of educational activities.Normal schools or teacher-training speciality,as the "cradle" for cultivating future teachers,are critical stages for normal students to receive professional education and study before becoming teachers.The secondary vocational education stage of normal school students is in a period of forming values and outlook on life.The shaping of moral concepts in this period will affect their future professional accomplishment and even the whole life.Under the background of pursuing economic value in today’s society,normal school students are faced with the challenges of diversified career choices and conflicts of interests between ideal and reality.So,their professional beliefs and ways of thinking are affected to a certain extent.The lack of professional moral knowledge,unstable career ideal,lack of professional confidence,insufficient self-education reflection,and even the corrupt behaviors of teachers caused by the temptation of money interests and covet of power have once aroused doubts in the society.Therefore,it is urgent to strengthen the professional ethics cultivation of secondary vocational normal school students.Based on the research on teachers’ professional ethics at home and abroad,this paper expounds the importance of teachers’ professional ethics,and clarifies the urgency of developing teachers’ professional ethics for secondary vocational normal school students.Through literature review,questionnaire,interview and other research methods to investigate the current situation of cultivating normal students’ professional ethics in a secondary vocational school in Guangzhou,it is found that there are following issues:(1)the lack of comprehensive penetration and connotation in the curriculum of the school leads to less systematic study and shallow understanding of students’ professional ethics knowledge;(2)the lack of professional knowledge and training leads to insufficient awareness and teaching practice ofteachers;(3)the lack of special themes and forms of extracurricular activities leads to the inability of activities to improve students’ participation;(4)the lack of overall publicity and atmosphere at the school level leads to the weak awareness of teachers and students.The causes of the issues above are analyzed from the corresponding curriculum,teachers,extracurricular activities and the school level.It is concluded that the main causes are the lack of systematic arrangement of curriculum,the lack of comprehensive guidance for teachers,the lack of targeted themes for extracurricular activities,and the lack of overall planning in the school,which results in insufficient efforts and difficult implementation in professional ethics training for teachers.In view of these problems and their causes,the author probes into the ways to cultivate the professional ethics of secondary vocational normal school students,and finally puts forward some suggestions on the ways to cultivate the professional ethics of teachers from the aspects of constructing and perfecting the main and auxiliary systems at the curriculum level,improving the cultivation awareness and role models of teachers,deepening the professional ethics quality through extracurricular activities,and strengthening the publicity and cultural construction in schools,etc.,so as to provide some references and strategies for changing the deficiencies in the professional ethics cultivation of secondary vocational normal school students.
