Abstract/Summary:
Looking back at the history of China’s higher education development,there have been three large-scale enrollment expansions in colleges and universities,but the enrollment expansion that began in 1999 is the longest lasting,widest scope,and largest enrollment expansion in the history of China’s higher education development,since 1999 After the announcement of the expansion of enrollment in the year,China’s education began to shift from “elite education” to “mass education”.In 2019,the gross enrollment rate of higher education reached 51.6%.Higher education officially entered the “universal education”,the employment of college graduates has also changed from “package distribution” to “independent job selection”.Although the expansion of college enrollment has reached the quantitative goal to a certain extent,it has also relieved the economic pressure at that time and strengthened the scope of people’s higher education.However,as the market economy develops towards high quality,the disadvantage of "one-time employment rate" Gradually,the focus of attention of the state,government and scholars from all walks of life has shifted from "quantity" to "quality".The employment quality of college graduates is an important criterion for measuring the quality of college education and talent training.The country’s strategic development,social and economic progress,and political and cultural construction are all inseparable from college graduates.College graduates are the country’s precious human resources.Realizing the improvement of employment quality is conducive to maintaining social stability,advancing the implementation of the "innovation-driven development strategy",and conducive to achieving the development goals of the 14 th Five-Year Plan.Therefore,research on the employment quality of college graduates is particularly important.The research on the improvement of the employment quality of college graduates is the main content of this article.The author clarifies the research ideas and methods by combing relevant domestic and foreign documents and materials.And on the basis of human capital theory,ability quality model and demand hierarchy theory,it summarizes the current employment status of college graduates.Secondly,choose a representative M university as an example,collect the degree of conformity between the employ ability of M university graduates and the needs of employers through field interviews and questionnaire surveys.Based on the employment situation of graduates from 2016 to 2020,15 influencing factor indicators are set from the talent supply side and the talent demand side,through the AHP method to explore the relative importance of the factors that affect the quality of employment of college graduates,it is found that the expansion of college enrollment is not the fundamental factor that affects the quality of employment.Finally,based on the needs of employers,constructive suggestions for improving the employment quality of graduates are put forward: First,strengthen the government’s macro-control and improve related employment policies.Second,we need to fine-tune the employment of universities and improve the employment tracking mechanism.Third,promote government-use industry-university-research cooperation and innovate talent training models.Fourth,create a fair and transparent employment environment and eliminate employment prejudice and discrimination.Fifth,the employing unit should follow the principles of "selecting people according to their posts" and "employing people according to the quantity".
