As the country attaches greater importance to quality education and the cultivation of subject core literacy,the concept of classroom teaching is constantly being improved,and the subject of history is no exception.The GCSE History Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition Revised 2020)mentions that "emphasis is placed on using the subject's big concepts as the core,structuring the content of the curriculum,leading with themes,contextualising the content of the curriculum,and promoting the implementation of the subject's core literacies".The Big Concepts have become a buzzword in the field of history teaching in recent years.They are broad concepts with a high degree of generality,emphasising the intrinsic properties of the subject and unifying the knowledge system.This paper is divided into four chapters,the first of which elaborates on the concept of theme teaching in a conceptual context,including theme teaching and the concept of theme teaching in a conceptual context,the characteristics of theme teaching and the theoretical basis of theme teaching;the second chapter elaborates on the current situation of the application of theme teaching in high school history teaching,and discusses it from the perspectives of the opportunities and problems faced in conjunction with actual cases;the third chapter elaborates on the application principles and teaching strategies of theme teaching.Chapter 3 explains the application principles and teaching strategies of theme teaching,analyses and integrates the teaching materials from the perspectives of lesson,unit and a book in a big concept perspective,follows the principles to highlight the theme,masters the steps to implement the theme,summarises the feedback to deepen the theme,and realises the target requirements of the value level of history teaching;Chapter 4 explains the problems that should be paid attention to in high school history theme teaching,and illustrates the problems that should be paid attention to in high school history theme teaching to enhance the strategy The practical operation of the study.
