A Report On Consecutive Interpretation Of Symposium On Beijing Cultural Relics

In the 21st century,the world has entered a stage of globalization.With the deepening of exchanges between countries,cultural exchanges have also become the engine for common development.Particularly,Beijing,China’s capital,should give full play its role as“culture center”.This report is based on the symposium on Beijing cultural relics held in Beijing on August 7^th,2022,the theme of which is to introduce Beijing cultural relics,Beijing custom and conduct multi-party discussions based on the cultural elements mentioned.The report is divided into five chapters.Chapter One is Task Description,which involves the background of the task,the significance of the task,and the entruster’s requirements;Chapter Two is Process Description,mainly introducing the pre-interpreting preparation,interpretation process,entruster’s feedback and self-reflection after the interpretation.Chapter Three is Theoretical Framework,mainly introducing the development of interpretive theory,the main principles of interpretive theory and its application in interpretation.Chapter Four is Case Analysis,which mainly summarizes the difficulties encountered in the interpretation process and their coping strategies,namely,amplification,inquiry,free translation,omission,reconstruction,visualization and separation.Chapter Five summarizes the successes and flaws of this interpreting practice.The interpretation gains the recognition from the guests.It has proved that preparations before the task and on-the-spot reaction ability are of necessity to be a qualified interpreter,and demonstrated the guidance of the Interpretive theory in the practice,which provided reference for the interpretation on an occasion of this sort.
