To participate in the endowment insurance is an important way to realize the old depend on.In recent years, with the change of the economic system and the development of the labor market, the number of flexible urban employment personnel has been rising year by year, becoming the main component of the labor market.Flexible employment workers already bear the risks brought by occupational uncertainty and lack of job security, and the basic endowment insurance has the characteristics of long-term payment and lagging benefits, which aggravate the dilemma of flexible employment workers.Whether the subjective feelings of flexible employees in the payment stage are positive or not is an important factor for the long-term effective implementation of the basic endowment insurance policy. Therefore, whether participation in basic endowment insurance can play its guarantee function for flexible employment personnel, how much function it plays and how to play its function are the issues we need to pay attention. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of participation in basic endowment insurance on sense of gain.On the basis of sorting out the research status and defining the core concepts, relevant research hypotheses are proposed from the perspectives of life cycle theory, social comparison theory and social cohesion theory.Based on CFPS data in 2018,the least squares regression(OLS)and propensity score matching(PSM)were used to explore and test the influence of basic endowment insurance participation on different sense of gain,as well as the heterogeneity of basic endowment insurance’s promotion of flexible employment employees’ sense of gain under different income levels. Finally,Bootstrap mediation method and structural equation model were used to verify the mediating effects of depression risk, social trust and consumption structure on the relationship between basic endowment insurance participation and sense of gain. The results show that:(1)The participation rate of basic pension insurance of flexible employed personnel is low,and the participation of urban and rural residents in pension insurance is mainly.(2)Participation in basic endowment insurance has a significant positive impact on the improvement of sense of gain.Among them, the pension insurance of urban workers is involved in improving the overall sense of gain and relative sense of gain of flexible employees. The participation of endowment insurance of urban and rural residents in flexible employment improves the relative sense of gain; The effect of urban workers’ endowment insurance is greater than that of urban and rural residents’ endowment insurance.(3)There is heterogeneity among flexible employment groups with different income levels in enhancing the perceived gain effect of basic endowment insurance participation. The higher the level of income, the lower the level of perception of gain, and income has a "crowding out effect" on the perception of gain.(5)The participation of basic endowment insurance can improve the overall sense of gain and relative sense of gain by reducing the risk of depression, improving social trust and optimizing the consumption structure. This study puts forward countermeasures and suggestions from four aspects:perfecting the flexible multi-level insurance system, expanding insurance coverage, standardizing flexible employment, improving the enthusiasm of insurance participation, narrowing the income gap, strengthening the skill training of low-income flexible employment personnel, strengthening the perception of institutional value and enhancing social trust, and building an optimization path of endowment insurance policy based on the enhancement of the sense of gain of flexible employment personnel. In order to improve the people’s livelihood, promote the healthy development of the labor market.
