Writing teaching is the top priority of Chinese teaching in senior high school originally.However,writing teaching is marginalized and examination-oriented,so essay writing,which is in various forms,flexible and easy to write,has become an important form of writing training.First of all,the paper clarifies the objective of the teaching of Chinese essay writing in senior high school from the perspective of literacy in and edification value of Chinese,thus providing clear direction for the teaching of essay writing.According to the objective,in consideration of questionnaire survey,telephone interview and teaching cases,it is found that the causes for ineffective essay writing teaching in senior high school are student’s lack of interest,weak actual writing ability,ineffective teacher guidance and poor system-based teaching,as well as stylized contents,deficiency of writing skill,and stereotyped thinking on the part of students.On the basis of the problems found,the paper reaches a conclusion that the contributing factors are indefinite teaching contents,student’s growing schoolwork pressure,writing knowledge deficiency and insufficient writing material accumulation,monotonous teaching and evaluation mode,random teaching and poor language environment,which are related to the Chinese course,students,parents,school and society.Finally,in view of the problem and contributing factors,the paper puts forward strategy from guiding principle,contents selection,training method,evaluation and feedback;identifies six content forms,namely,textbook resource,student development,reading proficiency,composition writing for college entrance examination,social hotspot,regional culture integration;proposes five types of training courses,namely,essay introduction and writing course,reading broadening course,criteria instruction course,essay immersion course,evaluation and upgrade course,complemented by teaching case and student’s writing explanation.Finally,thepaper points out evaluation strategy,which is to form evaluation points according to writing contents,thus stimulating evaluation,forming effective interaction,with diversified evaluation subject and forms.
