After the foreign students has mastered the Chinese grammar, the cohesion knowledge became a difficulty for them. Recent years, the scholars of TCSL(Teaching Chinese as a Second Language) attach great importance to analysis of text errors by foreign students, most of them study on students whose mother languages are English,Korean or Japanese. Motivated by reserches of text theories,the writing class of teaching chinese as a second language, we examined the errors of grammatical cohesion method in 180 compositions which are written by Vietnam students. According to the statistics, the errors are unbalanced. Most of them show up in ellipsis, far more than the other errors. Then followed by anaphora, tense and aspect, substitution is the least of all these errors of grammatical cohesion method. Based on the statistics, we put forward some suggestions on text book and teaching methods of writing class, in order to serve the purpose of textual teaching and reduce the errors of text in foreign students compositions.
