Three Aspects In The Translation Of Colloquial Language: A Tentative Study Based On Two English Versions Of Teahouse

In this papa; we compared the points of view toward the traditional and western cultures and choosing and syncretizing between different cultures between Sun Zhongshan and Deng Xiaoping Deng Xiaoping not only inherited the correct viewpoints of Sun Zhongshan, but also broke through Sun's limitations in thoughts and theory. So that Deng Xiaoping's ideologies of culture have been the guidance to deal with the relations between the Chinese and Western cultures. Their efforts to choose and syncretize between the Chinese and Western cultures provided invaluable experience for the culture development and have been the direction to the building of the socialistic odlure with Chinese characteristics.In the first part, the consistencies and differences in the points of view toward traditional culture between Sun Zhongshan and Deng Xiaoping are discussed. They both believed that there were not anly elites but also dregs in the traditional culture, so that their attitudes toward the traditional culture were to animadvert on the dregs and inherit the elites Even their ways of animadverting and inheriting were almost the same. Since Deng Xiaoping was more incisive in the understanding of the feudal remains, he fought against them more thoroughly.In the second part, the consistencies and differences in the points of view toward the western culture between Sun Zhongshan and Deng Xiaoping are discussed. Although there are common points in their attitudes toward the Western culture and the methods they learned and used it for reference, Sun Zhongshan gave a higher remark on it He offered to learn it in all aspects. But Deng Xiaoping preferred to learn the advanced matter culture in the Western culture and animadvert on the system and spirit culture.In the third part, their attitudes toward the choosing and syncretizing between the Chinese and Western Cultures are discussed. Both of them proposed to syncretize the Chinese and Western cultures. There are also sameness in their standards of value, methods and objects of value in choosing and syncretizing the cultures. But Deng Xiaoping did better in syncretizing them and directed the way to develop the new socialistic culture in the new period, since he lived in a more advanced period.The end of this thesis provides a fairly objective and entire accessment about the relationship of Sun's and Deng's ideas of the traditional and western cultures.
