Although increasing exercise and fitness has often been associated with positive health outcomes, infrequent exercise participation has remained a problem. But self-esteem is the core of mental health. Self-esteem is a hot subject which is always studied by psychologists home and aboard. It is considered a variable of personality which can largely predict life changes and emotions. As aspecific area in self-esteem-physical self-esteem, which is closely related with the social evaluation of individual sense of self-satisfied or dissatisfied. Self-esteem can detect the psychological effectiveness of physical exercise. University girls who are in the later physical growth are a special crowd. They are subject to various emotional impact. And their emotional adjustment ability and athletic ability have a certain degree of reduce. Taking 108 central China normal university sophomore and junior undergraduate girls as research object. According the physical self-esteem questionnaire and experiment, this paper adopts experiment teaching method to study the whole effects of yoga practice to the physical self-esteem. Questionnaire reliability and validity is high with the application SPSS 18.0 statistical package for data analysis.The conclusions are as follows:1.the result is that the selected object in the body shape, fitness, physical function and other indicators showed no significant difference.2.After seven weeks intervention experiment, Yoga and sports dance practice were significantly different in body self-worth dimensions. At the same time, both the physical condition and physical attractiveness are also significantly different, and no significant difference in exercise capacity and physical fitness.3.After fourteen weeks intervention experiment, the five dimensions of physical self-esteem are significantly different, changes in physical condition in the experiment is very obvious, which is the special effects related to yoga practice.4. practicing yoga can be faster to improve physical self-esteem level than sports dance, exercisers have higher physical self-esteem than those who do not. exercisers have higher physical self-esteem than those who do not.
