With the development of society and economy, the work done mainly by the handicraft is gradually replaced by the work done by the mental skills. It means that the work is going to rely on workers'intelligence much, not on workers'physical activity, to accomplish their tasks. Modern Large-scale production requires the combination of many workers. Working sphere is also largely widened and single-typed jobs will be replaced by composite ones, therefore, workers will have to have more professional knowledge and various competence to answer the demand of these tasks. The modern secondary vocational education has stepped into a brand-new period from the training of skill to the sustainable development of capacity. So, it becomes a worldwide trend to pay more attention to training students'comprehensive vocational competency in the fields of the vocational education.After researching the training students'comprehensive vocational competency at home and abroad, it indicates that the concept and connotation of the ability in the theory of competency-based vocational education are constantly adjusted and transformed with development of the times. It is from the former focus on having the necessary of the knowledge, skill, experience and the attitude according to a certain profession to the latter view on having comprehensive vocational competency according to a profession group. This is because of the development of science and technology, the renewal of knowledge and the change of professions.Although people now focus more on the researches on the training students'comprehensive vocational competency, their targets are on the tertiary vocational education, otherwise a little on the secondary vocational education. But these researches make a good reference to my research, which is based on Yibin Vocational School of Commerce, a representative secondary vocational school in west china. Through the investigation to this school, this article finds four problems in the training students'comprehensive vocational competency: the misunderstanding to the training aim of emphasizing students'comprehensive vocational competency, teachers'low quality insufficient for training aim, the weakness of practical teaching, and the curriculum plan which do not adapt to the training aim. To deal with such problems, the corresponding countermeasures are put forward: That is to understand scientifically the connotation of the comprehensive vocational competency, to set up the training aim of the comprehensive vocational competency, to improve teachers'quality for training students'comprehensive vocational competency, to strengthen the practical teaching, and to build the value of the curriculum reform based on the training the comprehensive vocational competency.
