Cooperative learning is one of the most important learning methods which was advocated in the curriculum reform of China. With the further development of courses reformation, cooperative learning is widely applied in mathematics teaching. But many researchers find from much mathematics teaching practice that cooperative learning has a formal, generalized tendency in mathematics teaching, especially in primary school. Thus, it is very necessary to study the validity of cooperation learning in elementary mathematics courses.The paper introduces the current situation of the validity of cooperation learning by questionnaire, recording in classroom, interviewing teachers and students, as well as studying the related papers. That is, through the analysis of the present situation we obtains: what is the necessary conditions of mathematics cooperation learning and what are the factors of effective development cooperation learning, further puts forward the related proposals.We find from the investigation that the teachers are experiencing the change of concept to action. But in the process of change the teachers have great confuse, which they can't well convert their comprehension of the cooperation learning to the use of class teaching in reality. How to solve these perplexities is the key to the good cooperate learning.The conclusions we draw from our study are as follows:The necessary conditions for mathematics cooperation learning are following: (1)Much attention should be paid to students' study plan reasonable, including arrangement of seats in the classroom and introduction society into classroom. Moreover, the teachers need to establish harmonious ambience when they implement cooperation learning in the class.(2)Appropriate problem is needed and the selection of content need to be combined with its field, context and study ambience.(3)Effective cooperation learning should combine textbook with students' actually situation, so as to select appropriate time of cooperation for students' discussion.(4) Effective cooperation learning pay attention to the basic function of individual thinking and cooperation learning.Meanwhile, the factors which influence cooperation learning about elementary mathematics are following: (1) Teachers' factor. Teachers must have very strong comprehension about the essential of mathematics cooperation learning for effective cooperation learning. Moreover, they have a proper understand of their role, including changing their dominated role in class, directing, estimating and introspecting the process of cooperation learning.(2) Students' factor. Effective cooperation learning must be able to attract students. Moreover, students and teachers must cooperate closely with each other.At last, some suggestions have been given by the author: (l)Establish suitable environment for cooperation learning;(2)Teachers and students must understand the skills of cooperation learning;(3)Increase estimation strict to cooperation learning;(4)Deal with the relationship of individual thinking and cooperation learning well;(5)Treat everyone fairly in groups, not ignore phony cooperation learning;(6)Make good use of the function of teaching and researching group.
