Value-orientation is people's complicated ideal activities, is a kind of value selection, and a kind of value expectation, it decides people's judgment and selection, so it decide people's behavioral orientation. Orientation and method is the fundamental problem which must be cleared to the education development. Education as a kind of value practice, it belongs to human character, education value-orientation decides education's develop trend. Basic education is the base to the education system. Because our Basic Education is in rural environment, it has many special features, but its essence still is basic education. Researching rural Basic Education, must research its value-orientation firstly.Countryside is a developing historical category. Our countryside, agriculture and peasant have many difficulties to catch up with even lag the whole social developing speed, but they still is the element force to the whole social development. Seeking developing method for countryside agriculture peasant from education is not only education development character and dynamics, but also social development and person development requirement. The main of rural education is Basic Education. Reflecting current rural Basic Education to rural and peasant developments'value, and investigating its value-orientation firstly are the necessary conditions to make full use of rural Basic Education to countryside and peasant development. Rural Basic Education current value-orientation is"city-centered".This paper through researching the"city-centered"value-orientation social historic environment and institution factor and value subject factor to analyze its existing performance, check and discuss its unreasonable and unfair. On the basis of analysis and synthesis about past documents, this paper breakthrough previous rural education concept, commence on its main part Basic Education, limit researching range, and combine with value-orientation to study, endeavor to build reasonable value-orientation. This paper holds that quality-oriented education is education developing vitality, is rural Basic Education's outlet and direction, and explain for its reason validly.Value-orientation is the most active possible premise power. Reflecting and checking and discussing the existing rural Basic Education value-orientation, combing and questioning its reasonable and unreasonable direction and degree, rebuilding value-orientation witch accords with age spirit, is the fundamental premise to the rural Basic Education development, is the direction coordinate to push rural Basic Education practice and build rural Basic Education theory, is the fundamental and epochal mission to the rural Basic Education researching.This paper is divided to five parts. The first part is introduction, introduced the reason aim and significance to the research, limited the subject method and concepts. The second part is documents review, introduced education value-orientation and rural Basic Education value-orientation. The third part checked the reason of building and realistic performance of rural Basic Education"city-centered"value-orientation. The fourth part discriminated rural Basic Education value-orientation from positive and negative two sides. The fifth part is conclusion part, discussed the rural Basic Education reasonable value-orientation.
