Tutorial stems from the 14th century, Oxford University, which is designated by the instructor refers to individuals or groups targeted specific guidance on individual practice-oriented education in order to promote the development of the individual innovation process paradigm. By the nineteenth century, Oxford University undergraduate tutorial system was introduced. Today, the the implementation of tutorial has become a new trend in colleges and universities, and taking the education institutions are full of people, the whole process of educating people, the concept of a full range of human infertility as the goal in order to better adapt to the changes of quality education and personnel training to cultivate more outstandings, who are able to adapt to social development. In 2004, Jilin Normal University undergraduate tutorial system into effect.This paper firstly described the concept,history, philosophy, role models and implementation of tutorial to the undergraduate students. Then the comprehensive use of the literature and research, surveys, interviews, etc. , taking the College of Music of Jilin Normal University as the example, through the quesitonnaire survey and interviews to the first session of the implementation of tutorial to the undergraduate students and instructors, and its undergraduate tutorial system in recent years, the specific implementation of the feedback of students, teachers and so on their own experience to conduct in research, survey data to get through statistical analysis of survey results, stressed the importance of professional music school of the implementation of tutorial undergraduate need, which is characterized by the needs of professional disciplines, student characteristics and the changing needs of music education and infrastructure needs of the new curriculum. We summed up the mentor's duties: to help students adapt to to their college life, to improve the interpersonal skills; to help students to understand themselves, to deeply understand students'major, to look for their own direction of development; to help students to establish a correct outlook on life, world outlook and values; To guide and advise students on their studies, interns, internships, papers, study section, employment etc.; To teach students different methods on their studies and scientific researches. Finally, based on the characteristics of music studies, we summed up the benifits and the weaknesses on the mentoring in the implementation of music in order to find a solution.
