Volleyball general course is one of the major required courses for P.E.courses at colleges.The innovation of volleyball courses is to research and explore how to adapt the education of volleyball for P.E. majors to the reformation of fundamental education and to the requirements of the social development.Compared with the original PE curriculum,the new Course Standard of Physical Education and Health undergoes great changes,mainly reflected in the aspects of curriculum concept,curriculum goal system,curriculum content,teaching method,learning style,teaching evaluation system and teaching hours.The implementation of new curriculum put forward new demands to middle school PE teachers.In this article,various research methods including investigation,documentation,expert interview,mathematical statistics and logical analysis are adopted to examine the current situations of the education of volleyball general courses for P.E.majors and to discuss on how to adjust physical education and health to the reformation of education in the new situations.The results of the research show Volleyball general course for P.E.majors has not been adjusted in the face of reform of physical education and health,failing in time and still following the traditional teaching system.The present teaching target of volleyball general courses attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' "three basics".The teaching contents reflect the fundamental and typical features of the teaching of the general courses,stress the teaching of tactics but ignore the cultivation of abilities,which doesn't comply with the requirements for physical education and health.The teaching approaches are out of date,therefore a P.E.framework of teaching approaches are needed to adjust to the education of volleyball general courses.The assessment and examination pays much attention to the students' mastery of knowledge and skills of volleyball,ignorant of the check of students' abilities.There exists a gap between the textbooks for volleyball and students' actual demand. The expansion of colleges and the reduction of the teaching hours of general courses exert some influence on the innovation of volleyball courses.Considering the above results,from my perspective,the relationships between volleyball and the P.E.courses in primary and middle schools should he reassessed to form a sense of urgency to reform the teaching of volleyball general courses;the research of the ingeneration of the athletic elements of the volleyball general courses should be strengthened to restore the inherent nature of volleyball;the students' role as a principal body should be emphasized in the teaching process and much attention should be paid to the cultivation of the,integrative qualities including the teaching ability and the creative abilities,etc.;a set of whole assessment system of teaching should be established to adjust to the teaching target of general courses. This research aims at providing the innovation of volleyball general courses for P.E.majors with some theoretical and practical support and guidance.
