Study On The Present Situation And Countermeasures Of Student Cadre Contingent Building In Foreign Language Universities

Carrying out the work of serving the students and school work, the force of student cadres is strong in foreign studies institutions. As the backbone and leaders among students, they are the organizers and sponsors of all kinds of activities. Their qualities directly reflect the quality of the talents that foreign studies institutions training. And it also has close relation to the communication and development, exchange and cooperation between the state and the world. Student cadres in foreign language universities receive high marks for their rigorous attitude and artistic work style. Moreover, after their graduation, they win respect and appreciation of the people in and out of the world for their overall quality and ability.At present, the society is in a crucial period of overcoming difficulties. The reform of high education is still deepening, and the diversity of social values and unstable aspects are also growing. What's more, some problems appears in students cadres troops building in our foreign language colleges, which mainly embody in these aspects:the support from outside is insufficient; student cadres lack of theoretical and political knowledge; student cadres'ability and quality are relatively weak; student cadres mental quality is limited; the structure of student cadres contingent is not entirely reasonable; student cadres' own problems and so on. These problems greatly affect the construction of student cadre troops and social stability, as well as achieving the training goal of higher education. Furthermore, they affect the comprehensive development of foreign language experts that countries need to cultivate.Starting from the point of strengthening student cadre contingent building, based on the explanation of the content of students cadres, this paper analyzes the achievements, problems and causes of student cadre contingent construction deeply. Last comes to the construction of student cadre contingent of foreign language universities. This paper is divided into three parts: Part I:An overview of student cadre contingent building in foreign studies institution. On the basis of introducing the nature, composition, common points and specificity of student cadre contingent building, it introduces the working principles, status and role of student cadres in foreign studies institution.Part II:An analysis of present situation, problems and reasons of student cadre contingent building in foreign language institutes. On the basis of brief introduction of the present development of Sichuan International Studies University and the research accession to information, it discusses the status of student cadre contingent building from the organizational system, management system and achievements of students cadres cultivation. It puts forward problems in seven areas:the lacking of support from the external environment, the imperfection of system construction, the weakness of political and theoretical knowledge, the limited mental quality, and the incompletely rational structure. It discusses the reasons why those problems exist among which containing the thought and knowledge of the leaders, the influence of their majors, the culture, the management mechanism, and the student cadres'own problems.Part III:The discussion of student cadre contingent building system in foreign language institutes. It tells us we should construct the system of student cadre contingent by strengthening the awareness of importance and necessity, selecting, training, using and improving the system building of student leaders.This paper has an important practical significance, helping us understand the current situation of student cadres in foreign language school, guiding the student cadres to do practical construction, promoting student leaders of foreign language college to grow healthily and at last enhancing the overall quality of foreign language teaching. At the same time, it plays an important role in deepening the understanding of the regularities of student cadre contingent building and enriching the theory of building student cadre contingent.
