Physical exercise is a kind of body activity that aims to develop physical quality and health, adjust mental world and enrich cultural life. Produced from this active exercise, health and happiness become important content of subjective well-being. Therefore, under the background of quality-oriented education, to study the relationship between physical exercise and subjective well-being, especially analyze the influence on the subjective well-being of college students by exercise, will deepen the understanding of the benefit of exercise, promote school physical education and make a contribution to the improvement of mental and physical health.This paper aims to investigate the state quotas of exercise and their subjective well-being of college students from six colleges and universities in Hohhot, and analyze the relationship between physical exercise and subjective well-being from the sports sociological and psychological angle. In order to make college students to have reasonable exercise under a comprehensive and scientific health idea, and improve mental and physical health of college students, the author will discuss the affect of duration of exercise each time, frequency per month, and different forms of involvement, etc. on subjective well-being. And eight research finding are as follow:1.There is difference between boys and girls from different dimensionalities of subjective well-being, i.e. boys'subjective well-being is lower than girls'on energetic and mental state dimension, but higher on the tight and loose dimension, and there is no difference on the other three dimensions.2. From the investigation of the state quotas of college students'exercise, it is found that boys have exercise with more time and in more different forms than girls besides, more frequently, but no divergence on the aim and understanding of physical exercise.3. From the perspective of major, the subjective well-being of students majoring in sports is dramatically higher than the students of arts and science on all dimensions.4. There is notably difference between sports professional students and students of arts and science on the aspects of exercise forms, frequency of having sports each month, duration of exercise each time and the aim.5. The subjective well-being of college students from different cities is dramatically higher than those students from rural and pastoral area on the energetic and mental state dimensions.6. There is difference among students from different regions on the aspects of exercise forms, frequency of have sports each month. The students from cities are higher than those students from rural and pastoral area7. College students from different grades have different subjective well-being on the three dimensions, i.e. life satisfaction, emotion control and tight and loose dimension.8. There is notably difference among students of different grades, especially on the aspects of exercise forms, duration of exercise each time and frequency of having sports each month. Junior and senior college students are on a declining curve.9. Subjective well-being has an obvious relationship with the status of having sports, and it can be predicted by learning about the status.
