America's "responsibility" Is China's Policy Choice

After the Cold War, American strategic judgment to China is variable, which goes through"China's Collapse","China's Threat"and"China's Responsibility".This thesis aims to study China's position and role in the international system dominated by the United States, so that the policy suggestions will be given for China's foreign policy in response to the so called"China's Responsibility". At first, this thesis introduces the background and origin of"China's Responsibility", then analyzes the reasons the emergence of the theory in the frame of Neo-realism, Neo-liberalism and constructivism."9.11"terrorist attack was a milestone in the United States'policy to China and provided a new platform for the cooperation between the two countries. In the era of globalization, there are more and more fields where cooperation is required on the basis of common interests. At the end of this thesis, China's reaction and policy selection will be analyzed.The United States'policy to China is becoming more and more pragmatic and rational."Stakeholder"in the international system is the latest title given to China by the United States, which testifies that the United States is willing to accept the fact of"China's Rise", hope China to play a more effective role on the international affairs and cooperate with China on the basis of common interests. This trend is conducive to healthy development of Sino-U.S. relationship.
