The City's Elderly Residents Of The Community Participated In The Study

China is promoting community-building vigorously in recent years, which plays an important role on building harmonious society. As an essential part of community-building, resident participation is obvious hotspot. Retired people over 60 years old are major part of resident participation. This thesis analyzes common and different characters of different kinds of old people in resident participation, also make proposals on it, according to classify old people in community and field research.After the introduction of the topic and research method, this thesis expounds conception definition and theory exposition for some related research, which is focus on community, community participation, participation for old people and community participation for old people. After introduction of basic situation of old residents from S Community in Wuxi, including basic situation and characteristics, also classification and characteristics of old residents of S Community, the thesis analyzes the old residents'community participation, including basic situation and diversity of them, and also analyzes the reasons that influencing old residents'community participation, which contains benefit reason, historical reason, government reason and actual reason. Finally, after finding out some problems in the research process, the thesis discuss the method of guiding and pushing community participation of old residents, proposing in terms of government and neighborhood committee.
