China's Less Developed Areas Of The Local University Technology Innovation Interface Study

Today, technological innovation is widely considered be the third basic function of university. But the universities don't have all the recourse of technological innovation. So if university want to finish this function, it must be cooperated with other units that posse the innovation recourse. As a unit of higher education, university is very different from other units. So when universities participate in the regional innovation system, the interface problem will arise inevitably. In this paper, the interface of technological innovation of university is defined as below: the area on which the interaction between university and other units happen through the technological innovative activity. We also divide the interface of technological innovation of university into two levels: the macro level and the micro level.At the macro level, the interface is the model of government-university-industry (GUI) linkage in the innovation system, and the property of the linkage. In this part we discuss the problems below:l.The main models of GUI linkage at present.2.The evolution process of the interface of technological innovation of universities in our country.3.The influence on the innovative activity of local universities in the underdeveloped region by the interface pattern.4.The interface factors which influent the technological innovation of local universities in the underdeveloped region.At the micro level, we mainly discuss the relationship between university and other units in special technological innovation item of universities, and the interaction or conflict among them. In this part, our study is base on a survey on the person in charge of the R&D item of GuangXi university and a series of semi-structured interviews of departmental representatives from eight departments of GuangXi university. The questions below are discussed in this part:1 .The present situation of technological innovation of GuangXi university.2.The situation of the relationship of Guangxi university and local government and firms on the R&D items.3.The interface factors which influent the relationship between GuangXi university and firms on the R&D items.4.The interface factors which influent the relationship between GuangXi university and the local government on the R&D items.Base on the two level studies, we put out our suggestions on forming the effective interface of technological innovation of local universities in the underdeveloped region.
