The promotion of language and influence of a country are mutually reinforcing. In recent years, with the rising of the overall national strength and international status, more and more people begin to learn Chinese. Our country also tries its best to promote Chinese. That is not only to meet the need of the Chinese learners but also the need of soft power construction of our country. But from the perspective of disciplines, the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language is influenced by traditional Chinese instruction. Teachers occupy the principal position, and especially in the link of instructional design, teachers will design the lessons firstly and students have to accept passively. This way makes the teaching process dull and lack variety and novelty.This research make the foreign students come into the link of Instructional Design, and let them become the designers, participants, experiencers , and assessors. Teachers and students generate learning outcomes commonly. The research mainly uses the literature method. By collecting, collating information, absorbing domestic and foreign research results, it selects the important and practical information for analysis and provides a theoretical basis for the text. It uses the way of case analysis, and uses the example of the lesson《Kobayashi's Diary》of《Developing Chinese》to explain and demonstrate the teaching methods and the implementation process participatory instructional design in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.In this study, it sums up theoretical basis, basic idea and characteristics of participatory instructional design in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language .It can help teachers to change teaching concepts, increases interest of Chinese language learners, and develop their independent learning ability, It also makes positive efforts in promoting Chinese education for the foreigners, and improving autonomy and participation of Chinese learners in Chinese classes.
