Innovation is the foundation essence of a country, a source of firms’ being prosperous, and a necessity for students’physical and mental development. School is the cradle of cultivating innovative talents. In June2011, The State Ministry of Education carried out "The Outline of Basic Education Curriculum Reform (Trial)"(named Outline thereafter). The Outline identifies the objectives of the curriculum reform and confirms the importance of students’ innovation ability. The Party and the government of various levels invest a large quantity of human resource, physical resource, and financial resource into the cultivation of innovative talents. Examples are the annual large-scale and high-graded Youth Science and Technology Invention Contests of national, provincial, regional, and municipal levels. The emphasis that the Party and the government put on the cultivation of innovative talents can therefore be obviously seen. However, the status of the scientific and technological innovation ability of teenager students, especially junior middle school students, is still far from being satisfactory in recent years.The paper starts with analyses on the importance, the influencing factors, and the problems regarding the cultivation of junior middle school students’ scientific and technological innovation capacity, discusses the reasons that there is insufficient emphasis being placed on the junior middle school students’ scientific and technological innovation capacity, and finally put forwards some methods for the cultivation of junior middle school students’ scientific and technological innovation capacity based on the author’s coaching experiences in recent years gained from the contests on the teenagers’ scientific and technological innovation. Besides, the paper provides insights on how to motivate the teachers’innovation ability and on the establishment of relaxed environment of education management.The main emphasis of the paper is put on the cultivation of junior middle school students’ scientific and technological innovation capacity. The paper consists of five sections. Section one is about the cultivation of junior middle school students’scientific and technological quality. There are four aspects of scientific and technological quality: the cultivation of junior middle school students’interests in science and desire in learning; the cultivation of junior middle school students’ innovation sense; the cultivation of students’ correct attitudes to the science; the cultivation of students’ fine willpower. Section two focuses on the training of junior middle school students’ innovative thinking which includes the trainings of contrary thinking, replacement thinking, discrete thinking, and analogy thinking. Section three reports the application of innovation technologies. They are practice method, elimination method, hope collection method, and simulation method. Section four addresses the cultivation of exploring courage. The main steps are firstly to suppose problem scene and discovering the problem, secondly to create sufficient condition and cultivate exploring spirit, and thirdly to reach success and achieve self-fulfillment. Section five identifies the cultivation of general ability via the cultivation of the students’ data searching ability, the cultivation of students’ habit of recording, and teaching students with regard to the writing of innovation contest application reports.
